Hi there!
This week saw my return to undertaking facebook lives after a hiatus.
As we are soon to be saying goodbye to the January to June mini catalogue, I decided to showcase the Cactus Cuties bundle.
For the first card, I chose to keep things fairly simple. I used thick Basic White for the card base and layered it with Parakeet Party (a new in colour for this year) designer series paper (DSP) from the new pack in the annual catalogue.
Then I added a layer of Basic White cardstock, embossed using the Painted Texture 3d embossing folder. Using a blending brush, I blended some Parakeet Party to the background. I stamped some of the cactus in Evening Evergreen and punched out, then stamped the little flowers in Melon Mambo. The pots were stamped in Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride. The 3 pronged cactus was stamped in Pear Pizzazz and was fussy cut.
I then stamped the sentiment in Memento Black on Parakeet Party cardstock and hand cut. The card was finished with some glossy dots that's new this year.
For the second card I used thick Basic White for the card base again (standard size). I then used a piece of DSP from the soon to be retiring Abstract Beauty DSP and trimmed this to my desired size. I adhered a piece of Early Espresso cardstock embossed using the Timber 3d embossing folder to create a table effect.
I stamped all 3 pots one in each colour of Early Espresso, Crushed Curry and the new In Colour - Starry Sky. Don't you just love Starry Sky with Crushed Curry!
Using the largest banner die from Stylish Shapes Dies (also new this year), I stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo and added some twice and glossy dots to finish the card off.
