Suite Showcase no. 23 - O Holy Night

Hello!

Today's Suite Showcase is a little different. I'm sharing some cards with you that I've made using up my O Holy Night Designer Series Paper and the Christmas Classics stamp set.

I've kept all of my cards fairly simple to show you how to use up any DSP you may have leftover, because lets face it, we all have a stash of it!

For my first card, I cut my DSP to be the same size as my Pebble Path standard card base. I also cut a 1" strip to contrast with the main piece, To cover the join, I attached some of the gorgeous Night of Navy & Gold ribbon. I used the same sentiment for all of my cards. I pulled it from the Christmas Classics stamp set. It's such a versatile set.

Using the new Hexagon Punch, I gold heat embossed the sentiment and edges and adhered using dimensionals. Such a quick and simple card and so easy to mass produce. For the inside, I used a matting layer of Very Vanilla and added the strip of DSP and used another sentiment from Christmas Classics.

For my second card, I used one side of the DSP as a matting layer on a Mossy Meadow card base. On a smaller matting layer of Very Vanilla, I stamped the sentiment with the frame details in Copper Clay, then added the foliage and holly stamps using Mossy Meadow and Garden Green; I created a 'wreath' around the edge of the layer. I added the berries in Cherry Cobbler and then using a blended brush, I softened the edges with Mossy Meadow. To define the holly leaves, I used a Blender Pen and Mossy Meadow ink.

For the inside, I stamped the sentiment and the foliage. The card was completed with some Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins.

For my final card, I switched to Night of Navy. I again used the DSP as a matting layer. On a smaller matting layer from the More Dazzle Specialty Paper, I added strips of DSP.

I gold heat embossed the sentiment on Night of Navy and punched out using the Decorative Circle punch. I layered it with some of the same ribbon as the first card and I die cut some leaves from Christmas Classics. For the inside, I stamped the same sentiment as before with the frame details.

I hope you like the cards, I'm going to have more of a play with this suite. See you next time!
